# Creating a Catalog

> Learn how to create a new catalog to organize your products by brand, collection, or product line.

## What is a Catalog?

A catalog is a collection of related products grouped together. Think of it like a folder that holds all your products for a specific brand, season, or product line. For example, you might have a "Summer Collection" catalog, a "Winter Collection" catalog, or separate catalogs for different brands you represent.

## Creating Your First Catalog

Follow these simple steps to create a new catalog:

### Step 1: Access the Catalogs Section

From the main dashboard, click on **Catalogs** in the left navigation menu.

### Step 2: Click "New Catalog"

Look for the blue **"New Catalog"** button (usually in the top-right area). Click it to start creating a new catalog.

### Step 3: Select Your Brand

A dialog box will appear asking you to select which brand this catalog belongs to. Choose from your available brands in the dropdown menu.

### Step 4: Enter Catalog Details

Fill in the following information:

* **Catalog Name**: Give your catalog a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Spring 2025 Collection", "Premium Electronics", "Kids Clothing Line")
* **Description**: Add a brief description of what this catalog contains. This helps you remember the catalog's purpose later.

### Step 5: Create the Catalog

Click the **"Create Catalog"** button. Your new catalog is now ready! You'll see it appear in your catalogs list.

## What Can I Do With Multiple Catalogs?

Since a brand can have multiple catalogs, you have flexibility in how you organize your products:

* **By Season**: "Spring Collection", "Summer Collection", "Fall Collection", "Winter Collection"
* **By Product Line**: "Electronics", "Clothing", "Home & Garden", "Sports Equipment"
* **By Price Point**: "Budget Line", "Premium Line", "Luxury Line"
* **By Channel**: "Wholesale Only", "Retail Online", "B2B Direct"
* **By Supplier**: One catalog per supplier or manufacturer

Mix and match these organizing principles based on how you work!

## What's Next?

Once you've created your catalog, you're ready to add products. You can:

* **[Add products manually](/help/catalogs/adding-products)** — Perfect for small batches or specific products
* **[Import products in bulk](/help/catalogs/importing-products)** — Great for adding many products at once
