# Creating a Workspace

A workspace is your own isolated environment on Alana Shopping B2B where your team can collaborate on product content. You can create multiple workspaces to organize different projects, brands, or departments.

## Creating Your First Workspace

When you sign up for Alana Shopping B2B, you'll be guided through creating your first workspace:

1. **Enter your workspace name** — This is the display name for your organization (e.g., "Acme Store", "Fashion Hub")
2. **Choose a workspace slug** — This is a URL-friendly identifier (e.g., `acme-store`, `fashion-hub`). It can only contain letters, numbers, and hyphens
3. **Review and confirm** — Check that everything looks good, then create your workspace

Your workspace will be ready to use immediately!

## Creating Additional Workspaces

Once you've set up your first workspace, you can create more at any time:

1. Click on your workspace name in the top-left corner to open the **workspace switcher**
2. Click the **"Create workspace"** button
3. Follow the same steps as above — name, slug, and confirm

## What is a Workspace?

A workspace is a completely separate environment:

* **Isolated data** — Each workspace has its own products, catalogs, and content
* **Team management** — You control who has access to each workspace
* **Independent settings** — Workspace settings (like billing and security) are separate
* **Organized collaboration** — Use different workspaces for different projects or teams

Think of workspaces like separate stores or brands that operate independently.

## Switching Between Workspaces

To switch between your workspaces:

1. Click your **workspace name** or **logo** in the top-left corner
2. Select the workspace you want to switch to
3. You'll immediately see the content and settings for that workspace
